Yalanda M. Barner currently serves as the Director of Marketing and Field Placement in the School of Public Health at Jackson State University. She received a Doctor of Public Health degree and a Master of Business Administration degree from Jackson State University, and Bachelor of Science degree Business Administration from Mississippi Valley State University. She is the current Secretary for the Delta Chapter of SOPHE. She is a member of the American Public Health Association and the Mississippi Public Health Association. Yalanda’s research interest is health policy with particular focus on health management, rural health, health care utilization, obesity and access to care. Yalanda is passionate about educating others about public health.
